Elephants are the largest existing land animals. Three species are currently recognized: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant, and the Asian elephant.
· The largest land animal living in Asia and the babies are called calves.
· Elephants can live up to 48-70 years old.
· Elephants are smart animals and they show similarities in humans. They have really great memory and are always close to a source of fresh water because they need to drink at least once a day.
· Elephants love to play, have hair on their skin and the skin changes color with age.
· The Asian Elephant has five toes on the front and four at the back.
· Asian Elephants are found in both dry and wet grasslands and forests.
· Elephants eat roots, grass, fruit and tree bark. They like to sleep during the day.
